Terms of Service

CounselR ("CounselR", "we", "us") is an independent, privately operated information and guidance tool for students and parents navigating JEE (engineering) and NEET (medical) admission counselling in India. We turn a rank into an honest, sourced list of college options and explain the counselling process in plain language.

We are not a counselling authority. CounselR is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to JoSAA, NTA, MCC, DGHS, any state counselling board, or any government or examination authority. We do not allot seats, and we cannot influence any admission outcome. All official decisions rest with the relevant authority and its official portal.

Everything on CounselR — including chance bands, predicted options, cutoff trends and choice-list ordering — is informational guidance built from past official data. Closing ranks change every year with exam difficulty, seat changes and demand. Past data guides; it does not guarantee. We do not promise you admission to any college, branch or seat. Always confirm every figure and decision on the official counselling portal before acting.

You may browse CounselR freely. Some features need an account (email and password). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

NEET and JEE aspirants are often minors (under 18). If you are a minor, you may useCounselR only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle children's data under the DPDP Act, 2023.

You agree not to:

• scrape, copy, resell or redistribute our data or content without written permission;
• attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its data;
• upload another person's personal data (such as roll numbers or documents) without their consent;
• use CounselR to mislead others or misrepresent it as an official counselling channel.

Some features (for example, the full ranked list, exports, and the Lumina report) are part of paid plans. Prices are shown on the site and may change; the price shown at the time of your purchase is the price you pay. We never use fake discounts, fake countdowns or fake urgency.

When online payments are enabled, they will be processed by a third-party payment gateway (for example, Razorpay). We do not store your full card or banking details. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Every figure on CounselR carries its official source and year. We use official records only — JoSAA, MCC, NIRF, NAAC, AISHE and official college sources — never aggregators. Where we do not hold a datapoint, we show "not available" rather than invent one. Official data and trademarks belong to their respective owners; we present them for information and guidance only.

The CounselR name, design, original text, and the way we organise and present data are our property or used under licence. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial admission planning. You may not reproduce our branded outputs commercially without consent.

CounselRis provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any prediction will prove accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CounselR and its founder shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any admission outcome, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service. Our total liability, if any, is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves or the law changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at the founder's place of business in India shall have jurisdiction over any dispute.
